where it began
I’ve been creating for as long as I can remember, but it wasn’t until high school, around 2018, that I began to take painting seriously. I started with portraits and collage, fascinated by the idea of large gestures creating something real. That early exploration led me to large-scale canvases, where I discovered the power of composition, value, and texture. Painting on a larger scale unlocked something new. It demanded more of me—more movement, more intuition, and more risk. As a former dancer, that physicality felt instinctive.
I wasn’t just making marks, I was engaging with the whole surface and responding to it in real time. During those years I began to develop a visual language that felt like mine. The more I painted, the more confident I became, each piece building on the last, shaping the style I continue to explore today.
